Aaron Hughes is an Iraq War veteran. Since his return to the states, he has dedicated his life to making
art that will deconstruct the culture of dehumanization and hate that was so prevalent while he was
deployed in the Middle East. This has lead to a creative struggle between the ideas of “art” and
“activism”, two historical ways of interacting and communicating with the world around us that create
space for new ideas, narratives, and images that can inspire humanity.
